Some insurance plans allow you to schedule directly with a dermatology provider, while others may require a referral from your primary care provider. Does UDermic Health treat more than skin cancer?
Yes. Although skin cancer diagnosis, Mohs surgery, and reconstruction are important areas of our practice, UDermic Health also provides general and medical dermatology. Our providers care for patients with acne, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, suspicious moles, and many other common and chronic skin conditions.
Why is having Mohs surgery and reconstructive expertise together beneficial?
Skin cancers commonly occur on visible or functionally important areas such as the nose, ears, eyelids, lips, and other areas of the face. Coordinating skin cancer removal with reconstructive expertise can help ensure that both successful cancer treatment and the functional and cosmetic aspects of healing are considered throughout the patient's care.

What is XPressCheck?
XPressCheck is a focused appointment designed to evaluate one specific mole, spot, growth, or skin lesion that concerns you. These shorter appointments allow our dermatology team to examine the area and, when medically appropriate, perform a biopsy.
XPressCheck is intended for a single suspicious lesion rather than a complete skin examination or conditions such as acne, psoriasis, or widespread rashes. For those concerns, our team can schedule a more comprehensive dermatology visit.
Who performs Mohs surgery at UDermic Health?
Daniel J. Sheehan, MD, Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and General Dermatology at UDermic Health, specializes in skin cancer treatment and Mohs surgery. Dr. Sheehan is board-certified in Dermatology, Dermatopathology, and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery.
